Kannur: An auto-rickshaw collided with a bus in Kannur and the auto-rickshaw driver and the passenger were burnt to death. The accident took place near 6th Mile Church in Katirur on Friday around 8.30 pm. The deceased have been identified as Abhilash (36) and Shajeesh (30), natives of Panur Parad and neighbors of Pilavullathi.

The tragic accident took place at Maidanapally near sixth mile on the Thalassery-Koothuparamba road. M46 bus coming from Thalassery and KL58 AG4784 auto running on CNG were involved in the accident.

The impact of the impact caused the auto to fall on the road and instantly caught fire. The driver and the passenger were trapped in the auto following a massive fire broke out. As the fire raged, none of the bystanders might approach or extinguish the fire.
The fire was completely extinguished following reaching the spot including the fire brigade. The bodies of both were shifted to Thalassery General Hospital.
