Latest Updates on the Casablanca Stock Exchange: MASI Falls 0.26% and Sector Analysis

The Casablanca Stock Exchange ended in the red on Friday, with the MASI falling 0.26% to 12,237.11 points (pts).

The MASI.20, an index bringing together the 20 most liquid stocks, fell by 0.23%, to 994.83 pts, and the MASI.ESG, an index of companies with the best ESG rating, as published by Moody’s ESG Solutions, fell by 0.36%, to 907.62 pts.

The MASI Mid and Small Cap, thematic index which calculates the price performance of small and medium-sized companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, lost ground by 0.96%, to 1,016.02 pts.

The FTSE CSE Morocco 15, made up of the 15 main stocks on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, classified by market capitalization, and the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid, a benchmark index which tracks the performance of all liquid stocks on the Stock Exchange, fell by 0.02% each at 11,341.29 pts and 10,329.55 pts respectively.

Sectorally, the electricity index showed the sharpest decline (-3.46%), followed by the mining index (-2.26%), and the company index financing and other financial activities (-2.09%).

The leisure and hotel index showed the largest increase (+3%), followed by the oil and gas index (+2.5%), and the forestry and paper index (+ 1.78%).

The overall volume of trade amounted to 128.53 million dirhams (MDH) carried out on the Central market (Shares). As for the most active values, Attijariwafa Bank contributed 15.92 MDH, Akdital 14.33 MDH and Ciments du Maroc 10.21 MDH.

The market capitalization amounted to nearly 629.08 billion dirhams (billion dirhams).

On the value side, Colorado (-9.45% to 43 dirhams (DH)), Salafin (-5.98% to 545 DH), Minière Touissit (-5.3% to 1,750 DH), Taqa Morocco (-3 .46% to 1,060 DH) and Disway (-2.91% to 683 DH) posted the biggest drops.

On the other hand, the largest increases were recorded by Auto Nejma (+5.99% to 1,965 DH) and M2m Group (+5.99% to 684.7 DH), Afriquia Gaz (+3.53% to 4,400 DH). ), Risma (+3% to 242 DH) and Sonasid (+2.41% to 680 DH).
