WKÖ aviation spokesman Ofner criticizes the disproportionate actions of the AUA on-board works council against the passengers

After one of the highest degrees in Austria and during the collective agreement that runs until the end of February, the actions are particularly surprising

Vienna (OTS) “Thanks to media reporting, it is well known that the AUA’s collective bargaining negotiations were concluded in the spring with an 11% wage increase. “It is therefore incomprehensible why there will be a company meeting of the AUA on-board staff tomorrow that will disrupt air traffic so massively,” says Günther Ofner, chairman of the aviation professional group in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, in astonishment. This trade union measure has negative effects on the recovery of the Austrian aviation industry, which in turn has an impact on Austria as a tourism location as a whole.

“It is undisputed that communication within the workforce is important. Nevertheless, company meetings must be held in such a way that they have as little impact as possible on ongoing operations. “I therefore call on the AUA on-board works council to act in the spirit of reason and not on the backs of the passengers and not to make threatening gestures that disrupt operations,” said Ofner. Canceling numerous flights on a Saturday due to company meetings shows little sensitivity in this regard. (PWK353/DFS)
