The works council board holds a “works meeting in accordance with the labor constitution, which must take place once every six months,” as Vida unionist Daniel Liebhart told the Kurier. The works meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m., the union told the APA.
Since the works meeting was scheduled for Saturday, the busiest day of the week, the AUA had to cancel 92 flights – mainly short- and medium-haul destinations. In total, more than 8,000 passengers were affected. Passengers who provided a mobile phone number or email address when booking will be informed regarding flight adjustments and rebookings, the airline said in a statement. Passengers are requested to inform themselves in good time regarding the status of their flight. The airline also announced that AUA was rebooking the passengers on Lufthansa Group flights.
