Actor Goûchy Boy: Facing Justice for Sexual Assault and Manipulation

The actor Goûchy Boy, who is facing justice for having sexually assaulted a former acquaintance he met on a film set, is said to have established a climate of fear and manipulation in his relationship with her, to the point where she feared leaving him.

“I was his puppet, I no longer thought for myself. I was scared, I was caught up in it,” confided the alleged victim of Goûchy Boy during a careful cross-examination.

The actor, whose real name is Ugochukwu Chijoke Onyechekwa, is accused of having sexually assaulted, kidnapped and harassed his former flame whom he met on a film set.

Their relationship, which was initially close, quickly got out of hand, according to the woman whose identity is protected by the court. Then during a night in a motel room in 2018, he allegedly forced sex despite her refusals.

The trial which began last May continued today at the Longueuil courthouse. The 52-year-old actor is known, among other things, for his role as prison guard Koffi Yatabéré in the popular TV series Unit 9 as well as for his appearances in 19-2 et Horse-Snake.

A bad quarter of an hour

During cross-examination, defense lawyer Kristina Markovic questioned the complainant at length regarding text messages sent following the alleged attack.

In the messages presented to judge Christian Jarry, she was particularly concerned regarding the state of health of Goûchy Boy or even asked him if he had time to see her.

“Why did you offer that to him?” Mr. Markovic asked him.

“Often I fell into his game, we talked once more,” explained the woman who totally feared for her safety. He told me that he was never going to leave me… and that if one day he did leave me, I was going to have a bad time because that would mean that I would have done something wrong. correct.”

The woman who gave her testimony behind a screen explained that she waited until the end of the filming to end her relationship with him because she hoped not to meet him once more followingwards.

She had also been afraid that he would carry out his threats: “He had videos of me naked. He said he was going to put it on Facebook, that he was going to give it to my colleagues.”

Ashamed

After their breakup, the accused allegedly went several times to his home located several hours’ drive from his home.

“I made several attempts to leave him, but he kept coming back,” she said. Sitting in the room, the accused laughed behind his mask as he heard certain answers.

The complainant was angry with her and even felt ashamed for having found herself in this situation. “He had a hold on me. […] I consulted, I went to get help to get through it,” she explained.

The trial continues tomorrow.

Goûchy Boy underwent a first trial for sexual assault in 2021, but he was acquitted. In another case, a third trial awaits him for a sexual assault which allegedly occurred on a person under 14 years old in 1990.
