ZDF is apparently going into the 2023/24 winter sports season with new faces.

After Severin Freund replaced the Austrian ski jumping expert Toni Innauer in spring 2023, according to information from t-online and Bild, a new face will also flicker across the screens in the moderation position.

Lena Kesting is supposed to replace Norbert König, who will devote himself to other tasks in the future. The 29-year-old recently reported on the Women’s World Cup in Australia and was on duty at the German team headquarters in Wyong.

Kesting was also on site for ZDF at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

There is also a change in the broadcasts of alpine skiing: Amelie Stiefvatter is to celebrate her premiere at the World Cup opener on October 28th and 29th in Sölden and follow in Kesting’s footsteps.

The 33-year-old has been appearing in the morning magazine since 2022 and reported, among other things, on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Innauer was part of the ski jumping team on ZDF for twelve years from 2011 to 2023 before appearing as an expert in front of the camera for the last time in February at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Planica, Slovenia.

In March, Freund, the 2014 German Olympic ski jumping champion, celebrated his debut and analyzed the World Cup ski jumping in Oslo alongside König following the 35-year-old had ended his career a year earlier.
