Advocating for Liver Cancer Patients in Thailand: Inclusion and Access to Life-Saving Treatments

Liver Care Foundation along with representatives of liver cancer patients Submitting an open letter to the National Health Security Office (NHSO) to continue the success of the “Voice for Change, one vote, change the lives of liver cancer patients” campaign to accelerate the inclusion of liver cancer medicines into the benefits package. “Liver cancer” is the number one most common cause of cancer death among Thai people. which is the number 1 most common finding in men and is the 3rd-4th most common among women. However, in the Northeast Liver cancer is the number 1 most common cause of death in both men and women. In 2020, the number of deaths from liver cancer reached 26,704 from a total of 27,394 patients, accounting for 97.5% of the total. Liver cancer patients are an urgent public health agenda in Thailand that everyone must turn to give importance to as well as other health threats.
