The CTG recalls preventive actions once morest the proliferation and bites of mosquitoes

As part of the fight once morest dengue fever in the commune of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, which has entered the Epidemic Phase since October 2, 2023, the Territorial Collectivity of Guyana (CTG) informs the population of the implementation of rotations of the “car-mounted spreader” in the town.

The passage times are as follows: in the morning between 4:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., weeks 41 and 42 of the year 2023.

The schedules for the passage of the “spreader” will be available on the website of the Territorial Collectivity of Guyana: www.ctguyane.fr as well as at the town hall of the commune of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni and the ARS Guyana.
These calendars are published on a provisional basis and may be subject to modifications (cancellations and others) for technical reasons. In the event of cancellation due to rain, the passage will be renewed the next day at the same time.
The population, and particularly children, are asked to avoid exposure when the “car-mounted spreader” passes by.

The Territorial Community of Guyana wishes, in this context, to recall the good actions to adopt to limit the proliferation of larval breeding grounds for the dengue vector:
• Remove nearby laying sites (gutters, vases, used tires, flower pot saucers, any container that might contain stagnant water);
• Maintain your garden by cutting the grass regularly; • Cover swimming pools that are out of use and drain the water from the covers or treat the water: bleach, chlorine tablets;
• Use a repellent (check with your doctor or pharmacist);
• Protect yourself with covering, loose-fitting clothing;
• Protect newborns, the youngest (under 3 years) and the elderly: installation of mosquito nets around beds;
• In case of fever, consult your doctor
• Avoid/limit going out if you are infected.
