Emilce “Mimi” Sosa became a book. This Friday at 4 p.m., in the Plaza de la Intendencia, she will present “My roots, my story,” an autobiography regarding her experience as captain of the Argentine volleyball team “Las Panteras” and one of the most representative players.

There will also be very hard chapters during his childhood in a Wichi community in his native Formosa, going through a key connection in Córdoba, since he came to play soccer in Belgrano and ended up leaning towards volleyball.

With “Las Panteras” she made history by taking Argentine volleyball to its first Olympic participation in Rio de Janeiro 2016. In addition, “Mimi” told how she returned from retirement to play in the South American tournament in Colombia in 2022 and her third World Cup, following having dedicated himself to studying “financial education for athletes”, so that generating resources to pursue a professional career is not an obstacle.

“We recently presented the book in Formosa, now we will do it in Córdoba. I’m very happy. I talk a lot regarding my career, but also regarding my childhood. I talk regarding how this love for sports arose and how I came to Córdoba to play soccer and ended up playing volleyball. In Belgrano, where my sister plays. That’s why I’m here a lot. She is a goalkeeper and I, she was a forward, a nine. I like it a lot. I tell why I decided to change and my beginnings in volleyball. At school. In Córdoba, I encountered the opinion of coaches who told me that I had many conditions to play volleyball. That chapter is called ‘My Teachers’. There are the coaches, assistants, family members,” Sosa said.

“There is a chapter in which I tell regarding my starting over. Due to a pandemic, we stopped. I was left without playing. I had to start from scratch once more. I came back to play in a third World Cup. The idea for the book arose from an original event such as that in 2016 I began to write a diary of everything that was happening. When qualifying for the Olympic games, I wanted to document it. It was very strong. There were people who told me that everything that was happening was worthy of being written in a book. I started playing on a dirt court and played in three World Cups. I decided to write it, but not publish it until I found the coach Maximiliano Cabanne. that he encouraged me and guided me. I read his book. I thank the Recovecos publishing house for publishing it. I hope it serves as an inspiration to many people,” “Mimi” closed.
