Remembering Director Alaa Mahjoub – A Tribute to an Egyptian Film Legend

Director Alaa Mahjoub, father of singer Nesma Mahjoub, died a short while ago following suffering a sudden health illness and being transferred to a hospital recently. The funeral date has not yet been set, according to what her manager told Youm7.

It is worth noting that the late director Alaa Mahjoub, an Egyptian novel director, born in 1952, obtained a diploma in hotels from the Gloucester Institute in London in 1974, and a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Commerce in 1977 in Cairo. Then he traveled to America, where he obtained a master’s degree in marketing and in 1981, then a bachelor’s degree in arts, cinema directing department. From Columbia University in 1984.

He has directed three feature films, more than 120 television commercials, and more than 200 films, documentaries, television programs, and public concerts.

Some time ago, the late director Alaa Mahjoub appeared in one of the episodes of the program One of the People. The director Alaa Mahjoub said, “It is possible for me to present a musical performance film and have Nessma participate in the work,” and Nessma wished to have that experience.

Director Alaa Mahjoub added during his meeting with his daughter, singer Nesma Mahjoub, with the journalist Dr. Amr El-Laithi, on his program One of the People on the Life Screen, that we must present a film or artistic work regarding people of determination, and their number is large in the Arab world and they have championships and an honorable record.
