On the Nossa Senhora Aparecida holiday, banks and financial institutions will not open. According to Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks), “bank branches will not be open for in-person service to the public on the Nossa Senhora Aparecida holiday, celebrated on October 12th (Thursday)”. This decision follows Resolution No. 4,880, of December 23, 2020, of the National Monetary Council, which does not consider working days for the purposes of banking operations to be national holidays.

As only face-to-face service will not be provided by banks and financial institutions during the national holiday, Febraban informs that customers can use the bank’s applications and websites to make transfers and bill payments. On Friday, 10/13, service at bank branches will take place normally.

In the case of consumption-related bills (water, energy, gas, telephone, etc.) and payments due on 10/12, you can pay on Friday (13) without any additional fees. Generally, charges like these come with adjusted dates, taking into account national, state and municipal holidays. But if this adjustment has not occurred on the due date, you can:

Pay bills and bills in advance and do so by Wednesday (11/10). Pay through Pix, as it is a payment method that works every day of the week, 24 hours a day, even on Sundays and holidays.

Payments made on the Nossa Senhora Aparecida holiday, October 12th (Thursday), by bank slip, DOC or TED will only be processed on October 13th. If you are going to travel and cannot do without going to a bank branch, consult the FEBRABAN website the addresses of banks in any city in any state in the country.
