Abel Pintos always maintained a low profile during his artistic career, focused on music and far from conflicts. Although now, following joining Got Talent Argentina, where he serves as a jury alongside La Joaqui, Emir Abdul and Flor Peña, the artist showed the most demanding and rigid side of him. Invited to the cycle Soñé que volaba, the program hosted by Migue Granados on the Olga streaming channel, Abel reflected on how he plays his role on the jury and what is seen of his work in the Telefe contest.

“When they called me I said yes because I wanted to sit down and do what I do in the rehearsal room, here,” the artist began by saying and added: “I mean, I don’t want to get into a situation. I’m going to do here what I do in the rehearsal room. “I’m going to speak the same way,” he acknowledged, confirming that what is seen on the air is not a character but himself.

At that moment, the singer reflected and left a forceful self-criticism: “And today when I look at him… sometimes I say ‘of course, I don’t know if I knew how to contain or manage everything that I would have liked.’ Because the people who are in the rehearsal room with me every day and live with me already know me. And many times, for example, seriousness or a card face is often confused with arrogance or aggression,” he emphasized.

“I don’t understand it like that. I am like that in my life,” he added sincerely regarding his role in the jury. Upon hearing it, Migue asked him: “Do you feel that you were exposed a little in the program?” “No, I don’t know if with the others. What happens to others, happens to others. Sometimes I look at myself and say… ‘maybe if I smiled a little it would be fine too,’” he answered regarding the little importance he gives to criticism on social networks regarding what he is like on the talent show jury.

A Got Talent participant sang a song by Abel Pintos and the artist’s reaction was not what was expected

A few days ago, one of the last Got Talent programs generated some discussions and other coincidences among the jury. The performer Iñaki Baldasarra, prior to his entry onto the stage, explained that he would perform the tango “Cuestabajo”. Wearing a black t-shirt as well as pants, a leather jacket and shiny silver boots, he stood on the stage stating that he had always dedicated himself to musical theater as a singer, actor and dancer: “You grow up and find other veins, but singing, dancing, acting, entertaining, it all goes hand in hand.”

After that intro, it was time to perform the aforementioned piece, under the watchful eye of the audience and the jury, who did not hesitate to applaud at the end of their performance. The professionals had different opinions and expressed it to the participant.

When his turn came, Abel Pintos began his return without half measures: “It was very well shouted, I’ll tell you. As for tango, I didn’t like it at all. I understand that you didn’t come here to present yourself as a tango singer, you came to demonstrate all that charming vocal versatility that overflows you, that comes out all over your body. It’s good to cover everything the way you want, but there are certain limits that must be respected.”

At this point, the jury analyzed that the lack of a framework for this type of presentation works once morest it no matter how much professionalism one has: “If the musical comedy parts that you put in do not have the context of a work around them, they may not be understood.” and be uncomfortable. I prefer to understand that you did not come to present yourself as a tango singer,” he suggested.
