Sofico and SPW infrastructures announced on Tuesday the successive closure for one day, outside of morning rush hours, of interchanges no. 9 (Corroy-le-Grand) and 8a (Louvain-la-Neuve), Thursday and Friday as well than next week. The objective is to rehabilitate the upper layers of the coverings, as part of the project which extends from Nil-Saint-Vincent to Louvranges.
“On Thursday October 12, from 9 a.m., the exit ramp and one of the two access ramps to interchange no. 9 ‘Corroy-le-Grand’ of the E411/A4 will be closed to traffic in the direction from Brussels. An access ramp to the motorway will therefore remain accessible for users heading towards Brussels. Users will be invited to follow the diversion set up via the neighboring interchange. During the day of Friday October 13, from from 9 a.m., interchange no. 8a ‘Louvain-la-Neuve’ will be closed to traffic towards Brussels”, indicate those responsible for the site.
Diversions will be organized via the neighboring interchange. And the two interchanges will once more have to be closed to traffic for one day during the week of October 16. The dates will be communicated later.
This work is part of a project to replace the upper layers of the surface of the emergency and right-hand stopping lanes, between Nil-Saint-Vincent and Louvrange, only in the direction of Brussels, i.e. over approximately 8 kilometers. On this section, until the end of October, the speed is reduced to 70 km/h. Three lanes towards Brussels are maintained from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and two lanes remain accessible outside these morning rush hours. The work represents a budget of around 2 million euros.
