According to “Sky” possible transfer target
Assan Ouédraogo is one of the few bright spots at FC Schalke 04 in what has been a catastrophic second division season shortly following relegation from the Bundesliga. It’s no wonder that the Royal Blues are trying to retain the 17-year-old midfielder for the long term. Nor is it that RB Leipzig and Europa League participants Brighton & Hove Albion are said to have the promising youngster on their radar. But that’s not all: According to the “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg FC Bayern is monitoring Ouédraogo’s development very closely.
The German junior international, who feels ready for the next big step, is considered a possible transfer target for 2024. The Munich team is aware of an exit clause in Ouédraogo’s contract for the coming summer – this is between 15 million and 20 million euros. Possible scenario according to the report: a permanent transfer, which might include a long-term working paper and a direct loan.

In addition to FC Bayern, RB Leipzig and Brighton, Bayer 04 Leverkusen is also said to have Ouédraogo on their radar. It is said that the exit clauses and fixed transfer fees that apply at Ouédraogo from July 1, 2024 depend on the country in which the buying club plays, it is said. English clubs, for example, would have to pay more than German clubs. It also plays a role whether the interested party is competing in a European competition. Further payments might be due if Schalke were promoted in the summer or Ouédraogo became a senior international.
Ouédraogo, who was recently given a starting market value of 500,000 euros, might become the most expensive German teenager if he changes in the next two years. So far, the ranking is led by Karim Adeyemi (21), who, as a 16-year-old in 2018, brought 10.1 million euros – including later resale participation – into SpVgg Unterhaching’s coffers when he moved to Red Bull Salzburg.
