Afterwards: “Pratersterne” and “Good Night Austria”

Vienna (OTS) Clear the stage for two legends in their field! The theater director and former Volkstheater director Emmy Werner and the world-famous drummer Martin Grubinger will be guests in “Welcome Austria” on ORF 1 on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 10 p.m. They talk to Stermann and Grissemann regarding their life’s work and their new projects. WÖ reporter Marc Carnal also mingled with passers-by and asked them regarding the current domestic political situation. The big musical finale including a percussionist showdown by Martin Grubinger comes from the “Willkommen Österreich” studio band. Then at 11 p.m. the “Pratersterne” light up DIE.NACHT when Hosea Ratschiller welcomes Clemens Maria Schreiner, Benedikt Mitmannsgruber and Malarina on the stand-up stage and the musical act Ernst Molden & Maria Petrova. At 11.30 p.m. there will be a dacapo with “Good Night Austria”.

“Welcome Austria” with Stermann & Grissemann at 10 p.m

Emmy Werner is a pioneer of the Austrian theater scene. In 1988 she was the first woman to head a major theater in German-speaking countries. She directed the Vienna Volkstheater for 17 years and began each season with a play centered on a major heroine. She has had a significant impact on cultural life in Vienna and is receiving this year’s Nestroy Prize for her life’s work. The theater doyenne chats with Stermann and Grissemann regarding life’s work, future works and life away from the stage.

The world-famous drummer Martin Grubinger also turned his back on the stage. The 40-year-old ended his career as a soloist in September with the very last concert in the Salzburg Festival Hall and is now devoting himself to new projects outside of high-performance percussion sports. He teaches at the Salzburg Mozarteum and played a key role in developing the app “My Groove”, with which hobby musicians can learn new instruments under the virtual guidance of a professional. In the “Welcome Austria” talk, he reveals whether he founded Salzburg’s Silicon Valley and whether he already misses the big stage.

“Pratersterne” at 11 p.m

“Pratersterne” host Hosea Ratschiller invites you once more to Vienna’s Fluc: First, the main prize winner of the Austrian Cabaret Prize 2020, Clemens Maria Schreiner, takes the stage. Benedikt Mitmannsgruber then tells why his dad suffered from the lockdown as a cross-border commuter. Malarina, who is of Serbian descent, observes those around her intensively and shares her insights. And the musical finale comes from Ernst Molden & Maria Petrova.
