Googlies Club: Encouraging Sporting Talents and Hosting Cricket Tournaments in Jeddah

Jeddah: Saudi Arabian cricket team coach Shuaib Khan launched the logo of the club ‘Googlies’, a group of youth from different districts of Kerala who are interested in cricket and other sports and games, in Jeddah. International Indian School Cricket Team Coach Adil Khan also released the jersey. National Institute of Sports, Patiala coach Imran congratulated on the occasion.

In a press conference convened in Jeddah following the launch of the logo, officials said that the aim of the club is to encourage the dormant sporting talent within the expatriate youth, children and women. Rasheed Ali (Chairman), Zubair Perlassery (President), Shamsu Misfala (Convener), Shaji Abu Bakar (Secretary), Riaz P.K (Organizing Secretary), Sameer Varikotan (Vice President), Mohammad Shamir (Treasurer), Adil Illikal (Joint Secretary) are the main officers of the club. The club also has a 13-member executive committee.

For the first time, Googlies will hold a Nano Cricket Tournament in November with the participation of leading cricket clubs in Jeddah. Prior to this, the organization’s logo and jersey were released at a ceremony held at the Season Auditorium in Jeddah.

Under 17 Boys Cricket Tournament, Under 17 Boys & Girls Athletic Meet, Under 17 & Senior (Boys & Girls) Chess Tournament, Under 17 & Seniors (Boys & Girls) Badminton Tournament, Cricket Coaching, Swimming Coaching etc. are on the agenda of the club. Informed.

Chairman Rasheed Ali, President Zubair Perlassery, Convener Shamsu Misfala, Secretary Shaji Abubakar and Treasurer Muhammad Shamir attended the press conference.
