“At the beginning of the telephone conversation, the fraudster, introducing himself as an employee of the subscriber service department of a cellular operator, reports that the citizen’s user agreement with the cellular company is ending. And he wonders whether the person will renew it. In fact, in contracts with mobile operators there is no period for using the number,” writes the source.

The attacker distracts the interlocutor’s attention with many small details, technical details, and clarifies for how long the contract will be extended. Then it asks you to enter the code from the message to “confirm your agreement renewal.” Continuing to distract the victim, the scammer offers to follow a link to “remotely sign a document.” In fact, following this he gets the opportunity to go to the page of the deceived citizen in government services.

In addition, attackers may ask the interlocutor to deposit a small amount, 30 rubles, into the account, supposedly for verification. Soon they steal all the money from the account.
