WHITE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — One person was killed and five were wounded in a shooting during a private party at a Pennsylvania community center early Sunday, police said.
Police and emergency responders responded to a 12:35 a.m. call regarding a shooting at the Chevy Chase Community Center in White Township, Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement.
Six people were shot, of which one was pronounced dead at the scene, they said. The municipality is located regarding 91.7 kilometers (57 miles) northeast of Pittsburgh, in Indiana County.
The surviving victims were taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana and UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. At least two of the victims were believed to be in serious condition, according to police.
State police said they had no suspects in custody Sunday morning. The police statement did not give details regarding a possible motive, whether there was more than one suspect or whether the shooter had attended the party.
