Great joy regarding a milestone for an equal educational system
Vienna (OTS) – Today, the federal organization “Verde”, a green student organization, was founded at the federal level with the aim of arousing and promoting the political interest of students, offering further training, particularly in the areas of education and environmental policy, and students: to support them in their work. In addition to the newly founded federal organization, there are already regional associations in Vienna, Lower Austria and Carinthia. The foundation is imminent in Vorarlberg and Styria.
“With Verde – The Green Student Organization, there is a new progressive force in school politics that clearly advocates living democracy, a united Europe and climate justice and thus provides answers to the crucial questions of our time,” says Werner Kogler, federal spokesman for the Greens , and states: “As a democratic student organization, it fulfills an important task and thus closes a gap in Austrian student representation.”
“With Verde there will be a committed, ecological and queer-feminist school policy movement in Austria in the future. The student organization offers all students an attractive new offer to actively shape the school of tomorrow,” says Sigi Maurer, club chairwoman of the Green Parliament Club.
“We congratulate Eleni Steinborn and Felix Niederhuber on the election of Verde federal chairmen as well as the new general secretary Theo Löcker and the new finance officer Smilla Buschbom. In their roles, they take on responsible tasks for which we wish them strength, success and, above all, joy in creating,” emphasizes Angela Stoytchev, federal manager of the Green Party, on the election of the chairman.
