Vanessa Matz at the federal level, Jean-Paul Bastin and Marie-Martine Schyns at the region, Alda Greoli at Europe, the president of Engagés (ex-Cdh) ended his tour of the Walloon districts in Verviers by announcing his heads (and end) of electoral lists.

Federal MP Vanessa Matz will lead the Engagés to the House of Representatives in the constituency of Liège. The Aqualian MP was elected municipal councilor in Aywaille in 1994, then was alderman and senator before joining Parliament.

The mayor of Malmedy, Jean-Paul Bastin will lead the list for the Region in the district of Verviers. Jean-Paul Bastin, twice mayor of his city, also intends to be a candidate for his own succession as mayor. There is, according to “penetration rate”, a possibility of combining this mandate with that of Walloon deputy, which he is not guaranteed to obtain in any case. The president of the party Maxime Prévot reiterated in this regard that if his party accepted the accumulation of these mandates, it refuses the accumulation of remuneration.

The regional list will be pushed by the former Minister of Education, Hervian Marie-Martine Schyns. “MMS” was an alderman, member of the Chamber, minister, then regional and community deputy. She continues to be interested in “youth” issues and is interested in regional planning, slowing down the artificialization of land, “but we must also be able to rebuild in safety.” Marie-Martine Schyns will be the last substitute.

Former minister Alda Greoli will present herself to Europe (but not at the top of the list). She will also be candidate mayor in Spa where she currently chairs the CPAS.

Note that the head of the regional list in Huy will be Marie Jacqmin. Olivier de Wasseige will lead the list in Liège.
