COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination for Elderly and Chronic Illness Patients in Montérégie

The Montérégie Public Health Department invites the elderly and people with chronic illnesses to be vaccinated to protect themselves from complications from COVID-19 and the flu. It will be possible to obtain both vaccines during the same visit, starting October 10.

People most likely to suffer from complications are:

• seniors;
• people with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes or whose immune system is weakened;
• pregnant women;
• people who live with children under 6 months or other people at risk;
• healthcare workers.

The Public Health Department also recommends that those around them receive the vaccine.

The vaccine once morest pneumococcal infections will be offered to people aged 65 and over, when this protection is indicated, as well as to people who have a higher risk of suffering from it because of their state of health.

Free vaccines

Anyone who wishes will be able to receive the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine adapted to the new strains free of charge.

To receive the booster dose once morest COVID-19, however, you must wait six months following receiving your last dose or following becoming ill with the disease. (AD)
