An elaborate water taxi system is coming to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. For this, 20 water taxi stations will be established. The new project is a part of easing traffic congestion in the city. The water taxi system is being implemented in the context of increasing flow of visitors and tourists to Jeddah.
The project will provide facilities for 29,000 passengers per day. For this, 20 water taxi stations will be established. This waterway will connect the Obhur Sea coast with northern and central Jeddah. The water taxi system is also being implemented as part of a larger public transport network implemented by the mayor to ease traffic congestion in the city.
An integrated public transport network is implemented which includes several light and express metro lines and bus services. Water taxi station projects are parallel to this.
