Meta introduces generative AI features for Ads Manager

Meta has begun the global rollout of its first public AI-powered creative features within Meta Ads Manager, and is scheduled to be completed by next year. This development will help advertisers increase their productivity, personalization and performance for advertisers around the world.

According to the Indian TOI website, there are three features: Background Generation, Image Expansion, and Text Variations, which advertisers can take advantage of artificial intelligence to achieve business growth.

Background Creation enables advertisers to create diverse backgrounds that complement their product images, and customize creative assets for their target audiences, while Image Expansion adapts creative assets to different aspect ratios across different surfaces, reducing the time and resources required to reuse content.

At the same time, text variations create multiple versions of ad copy, enabling advertisers to highlight unique selling propositions and reach their target audience more effectively.

Meta says these features underwent rigorous testing in Meta’s AI Sandbox, where a select group of advertisers provided feedback. Meta’s generative AI investments aim to enable marketers to quickly launch and test ad creatives, targeting desired audiences. The company plans to offer additional tools to create ad copy and background images that align with brand themes.

Meta is testing AI-driven business messaging on Messenger and WhatsApp to boost commerce, engagement, and support. “Today’s AI-generated ad features are just the beginning,” the company said. “We plan to provide advertisers with more ways to create ad copy to highlight product selling points.” Or create background images in minutes with custom themes, such as outdoor images for an entertainment brand.”
