Ski talent Livia Rossi picks up her new equipment with crutches
She broke her ankle in Zermatt. On the ski drop-off day she was on crutches – but Livia Rossi can still laugh.

Two ski talents are currently on the path to rehabilitation.
This one is still long and rocky.
They want to be back on skis at the end of December.
Equipped with crutches, ski talent Livia Rossi was on the ski drop-off day on Wednesday. Despite breaking her ankle in a fall in Zermatt, the 21-year-old was still smiling. She still has to get by with crutches for three weeks, and the pain is now significantly less, she tells 20 Minutes.
But what does a day currently look like for Rossi? “I train 1.5 hours a day, that’s all I can do.” She would learn the rest for her vocational high school diploma. She received a lot of support from her team, friends and parents. Rossi adds with a smile: “I don’t like being served, but sometimes I almost have to accept help.”
What are the next steps currently? Finally, there was also a possibility of the end of the season following the injury. “The goal is to be back on skis at the beginning of December and see how it goes.” Ideally, she would like to complete training sessions with goals once more in January. “Just step by step,” says Rossi.
Danioth is also on the mend
Aline Danioth also wants to take it step by step. The 25-year-old, who tore another cruciate ligament last season, told 20 Minutes: “I’m doing extremely well mentally. I tried to enjoy the summer even though I mightn’t do a lot of the things I like.” The healing process has been optimal so far. Like Rossi, she also wants to be on skis once more at the end of the year. However, it is still unclear whether there will be enough for one more race this season.
