Bengaluru Traffic Solutions: The Proposed 190km Tunnel Road to Solve Traffic Jams

Bengaluru – Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said that a 190 km tunnel road is planned to be built to solve the traffic jam in the city. He said that steps are in progress to call the tender within 45 days.

There is a plan to build a 190 km tunnel road to ease traffic congestion in the city. Eight companies have qualified for this. Companies have been asked to submit feasibility study reports. How the tunnel road should be, how many lanes should be, where to start and where to end, whether it is possible to extend the road to the entire city will be studied.

“Some important places where the road should pass have been identified. Where and how roads can be constructed in these places will be studied. Bengaluru needs a four-lane tunnel. As it is a big project, huge amount is required. The project can be implemented in phases.

A discussion was held with officials and traffic police regarding the traffic jam in the city last day. He also discussed the issue with Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. He was informed that the main reason for the traffic congestion is the vehicles entering the city on the national highway. Gadkari gave the necessary instructions. Shivakumar said.
