Severe Disruption of Circulation in Brussels: Metro, Trams, and Bus Services Affected due to National Demonstration

2023-10-05 04:13:49

As expected, the circulation of metros, trams and Stib buses was severely disrupted this Thursday morning, due to the national demonstration in which some of the staff wanted to take part.

At 7:15 a.m., only metro line 1 was in operation, but extended to Erasme. As for the trams, 7 lines run: lines 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 51 and 92. Finally, buses are also significantly less numerous. Only lines 12, 34, 36, 46 (between Moortebeek and Anneessens), 50, 53, 56, 59, 65, 71, 73, 87 (extended from Simonis to Etangs Noirs), 88 and 95 run.

Information concerning the circulation of Stib metro trams and buses is updated on the transport company’s various platforms (websites, social networks, and applications).

Furthermore, waste collection may also be disrupted in the capital. The Bruxelles-Propreté agency has announced that some of its agents will participate in the national demonstration.
The white and yellow bags therefore risk remaining on the sidewalks of the City of Brussels, Anderlecht, Ixelles, Saint-Gilles, Molenbeek, Saint-Josse, Koekelberg, Schaerbeek and Forest. Disruptions are also planned for green and orange bags. Bruxelles Propreté therefore asks as much as possible to avoid taking out the bags before the next collection.
