Beijing – A Chinese citizen died following drinking a liter of alcohol at once during a drinking competition held in the office. Zhang, a young man, consumed all the alcohol in 10 minutes to get the prize worth Rs 2.31 lakh. The incident took place in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China.
It was Zhang’s superior who started the competition. The prize money was initially announced as Rs 57,895. Later this was raised several times to Rs 2.31 lakh and Zhang contested. Zhang collapsed following drinking a strong Chinese liquor called baijiu and was taken to the hospital but died. The company was subsequently shut down. Police have started investigation.
