Debate about dog ownership law: “These animals are bred as weapons”

His owner would still have no problem with stricter rules for dog owners because, according to the 39-year-old, the animals are not to blame: “Certain breeds are bred in such a way that they can be dangerous to people. Such dogs should not be part of our everyday lives.”

After a dog attack in Naarn: All breeding dogs given away

Roman Kesl strolled through the country house park in the morning with two dogs on a leash. The fact that many dogs are allowed to run around freely here bothers the 33-year-old, who appealed to people to attend dog school in an OÖN interview. In any case, the core of the problem lies not with the dog, but with the owner, says Christian Taubenheim. The 51-year-old doesn’t think much of focusing on animals in the debate: “You should look at what went wrong in the dog’s upbringing.” Helga Neunteufel from Linz also says that a healthy amount of self-criticism would be good for the owners: “It fails because the owners invest too little in the dogs’ training.”
