October 11th is International Day of the Girl. A website from the city of Linz has already gone online today, where girls can find important information on topics such as protection from violence, health, sexuality, crises, but also career choices, educational opportunities and living together. The content was created specifically for girls and young women in collaboration with the autonomous women’s center (aFZ).
Essential issues regarding equality
Goal of the website linz.at/maedchen is to address essential issues of equal rights, prepare them in a way that is tailored to the target group and link existing, very good (advice) institutions and make them centrally accessible via a website. “I am very pleased regarding this extremely successful collaboration between the women’s office and the autonomous women’s center and would like to thank everyone involved. This homepage makes it easier for many girls and young women to find information and support offers,” said Women’s City Councilor Eva Schobesberger (Greens).
