Fast-food chain Burger King continues to operate as normal in Russia despite saying it will pull out of the country due to the invasion of Ukraine, according to BBC.

The company ended corporate support for its Russian locations in March last year, but said it faced obstacles because its main partner in the country “refused” to close the facilities.
Reports now suggest that the fast food chain is still business as usual in Russia.
Restaurant Brands International (RBI), which owns a 15% stake in Burger King’s Russian operations, told the BBC it had “no new updates to share at this time” on its exit.
Carlsberg products will no longer be sold in Russia
Carlsberg ended licensing agreements for its brands in Russia in response to what it called an “illegitimate takeover” of its business by Moscow in July.
The brewer said today that it has informed its Russian subsidiary Baltika that it has terminated the agreement that allowed it to manufacture, market and sell Carlsberg products.

Many foreign companies, including from the West, continue to collect income of billions of rubles in Russia, despite sanctions and calls to boycott the country led by Vladimir Putin over the war in Ukraine, it shows Forbes Russia.
The top-grossing foreign company in Russia so far in 2023 is French giant Leroy Merlin, with total revenues of 529.7 billion rubles (regarding 5.185 billion euros).
It is followed in the ranking by two tobacco producers, Japan Tobacco International (revenues of 432.6 billion rubles) and the American company Philip Morris International (399.9 billion rubles).
The top 10 ranking is completed by:
- PepsiCo – 303.3 billion rubles;
- Auchan – 292.6 billion;
- VEON (Dutch telecommunications company) – 286.4 billion;
- Metro Cash & Carry – 223,6 miliarde;
- Mars – 201.4 billion;
- Nestlé Russia – 195 billion;
- Chery Automobile (Chinese car manufacturer) – 147.5 billion rubles.
