A Saudi court decided to sentence a doctor to the maximum limit of the anti-harassment system by imprisoning him for five years and defaming him in the media, according to Okaz newspaper. The newspaper indicated that the Public Prosecution ordered the doctor to be suspended pending investigation, before deciding to extend his detention and refer him to the Criminal Court. According to what was stated in the public lawsuit, the doctor intentionally hit the nurse in a sensitive place on her body, which caused the victim to burst into tears. She said in her lawsuit that it was not the first time the doctor had touched her, and he had previously harassed her verbally, and offered her a thousand riyals in exchange for spending the night with him at his house. . She stated that she had no witnesses or cameras at the site, but she kept the apology letter from the doctor in a WhatsApp conversation. She decided to waive her private right, considering that the doctor’s touching of her was by mistake, according to her admission. But it was decided to proceed with the case in public law.
