UAE’s New Space Mission: Sheikh Hamdan Announces Astronauts and Ambitious Projects

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC), announced the UAE’s new space mission. Sheikh Hamdan announced on Twitter that two astronauts from the UAE will go into space next year. By 2024, Mohammed Al Mulla and Nora Al Matrushi will begin space missions.

Sheikh Hamdan explained regarding the UAE’s satellite launch and lunar exploration project. He informed that he chaired the board meeting of Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center and outlined the new initiatives. Next year, Sheikh Hamdan noted on Twitter that the Arab world’s most advanced satellite, MBZ-Sat, will be launched and the Rashid Rover 2 project will continue as the determination to explore the moon remains.

MBRSC is working towards realizing UAE’s dreams of conquering space. The aim is to raise the Arab region to the leadership level in the global industry. In the next phase, Sheikh Hamdan also stated that the UAE is preparing to implement extraordinary projects that will open new horizons for space exploration.
