Sarah Chiche is a writer who knows how to write in the dark. “This whole story will remain enigmatic to those who do not agree to arm themselves with their own part of darkness to encounter what can happen to human beings,” she makes the narrator say, at the very beginning of her novel, one of the most prominent this fall, Alchemies. “Arm yourself with your own part of darkness”… This phrase applies precisely to the writing of Sarah Chiche who draws on darkness to welcome the bursts of light which also escape from humans in their crazy outfits.
