iOS 17.1 is still in beta, but o 9to5Mac found that the update will make the iPhones locked screen even more dynamic. This is because the new version will allow you to select specific albums so that photos alternate randomly.

It is quite true that the option Random Photos already exists. However, this feature lacks customization options, depending on the categories automatically detected by the system — such as People, Nature or Pets.

Today, for example, it is not possible to easily add or remove photos. With iOS 17.1, when creating a dynamic set of photos to use as wallpaper, users will be able to choose exactly which images they want to see on their Lock screen.

To use the feature, simply keep your finger pressed on the locked screen, swipe to the right and tap “+”. Then, you will be able to choose the “Random Photos” option and customize your choice with your preferred album.

With iOS 17.1, your iPhone’s Lock screen can become a true tableau of your most cherished memories, offering a more immersive and customizable experience. However, there is still no date for the update to be released.
