This is real love for Oktoberfest and music! A pop star took to the stage of an Oktoberfest tent well following midnight – and “really spontaneously”.
Munich – The Oktoberfest was literally born into Patrick Lindner’s cradle: Today’s Schlager star was born on September 27, 1960 in Munich, right around the time of Oktoberfest. Even now, decades later, visiting the Theresienwiese – along with TSV 1860 Munich – is still one of his great passions. So much so that he even celebrates his birthday there.

On Wednesday, September 27th, he invited friends and acquaintances to the wine tent and crowned his own celebration by taking the stage there himself (we reported) and singing for the whole tent. Amazing: The day following, Patrick Lindner was back at the Oktoberfest – and he performed once more! This time, however, at a late hour, only for one song, and completely spontaneously.

Just one song: Patrick Lindner with a fun performance in the Käfer tent at the Oktoberfest
Patrick Lindner was traveling with a group, including his photographer friend Wolfgang Breiteneicher. They first went to the stables, he told tz.de, and then went to the Käfer tent for a nightcap. “Patrick knew the band and suddenly he sang.” It was at 8 past twelve or half past one and “really spontaneous.” Just for one song: Patrick Lindner and the band performed “Greek Wine” by Udo Jürgens.
Breiteneicher filmed part of the performance (see video above). The clip documents 63-year-old Patrick Lindner’s love of music. Because how else might you explain why he spontaneously picks up the microphone in the middle of the night? The pop star also shared the video on his Instagram story, so he seems to have enjoyed it. It is not the first surprise appearance by a pop star at the 2023 Oktoberfest: Andreas Gabalier sang in the Schottenhamel tent on the first day, and two legends did the honors with Regine Sixt. And an insurance company brought a Mallorca pop singer to the Oktoberfest. (lin)
