There was a fire in a house in Kagoshima City this evening, and we are unable to contact the residents. According to the fire department, at around 5:40 pm today, a nearby resident called 119 in a residential area in Yoshino-cho, Kagoshima City, complaining that “black smoke might be seen coming from a two-story building.”
According to the police, the fire broke out in the house of unemployed 67-year-old Takayoshi Yanagimura, and firefighters are working to extinguish the fire.
Mr. Yanagimura lives alone and has not been able to contact him since the fire.
Police and fire departments are investigating the cause of the fire.
