And when you are aware of the fact that one in two people born following 1960 will face cancer, this implies an upheaval in the daily life of a household which will require organization, whether social, professional or financial.
Fortunately, there are many associations that support patients suffering from this pathology, who support them and guide them at all stages of the disease. Among them, we have already talked regarding Goxa Leku in Saint-Pée-sur-Nivelle which welcomes and supports people with cancer in the Basque Country.
Today, we want to highlight “Life is Rose” whose main mission is to avoid financial, social or even societal insecurity.
Support even if everything is not rosy
For those who are wondering, “Life is Rose” has no link with “Pink October” which carries out each year a communication campaign intended to raise awareness among women regarding breast cancer screening and to raise funds for research. .
Created around ten years ago, the association operates with the help of 25 volunteers and should soon be honored by the City of Biarritz.
Thus, the origin of “Life is Rose” lies in the admiration that its founding president Nathalie Savariaud had for the American magazine “Life”. As Anne-Laure, who works within the association, points out “ she wanted to integrate this name into the association and she added “is Rose” to make a nod to “La vie en Rose”, to see life on the bright side, even in difficult times. »
