Prince Emmanuel of Belgium is the third of the four children of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde to reach the age of majority. Emmanuel, Léopold, Guillaume, François, Marie de Belgique was born at the Erasmus hospital in Anderlecht in the Brussels Region.

He was baptized like his sister Princess Elisabeth and his brother Prince Gabriel at the Château de Ciergnon in the Ardennes. He received as godfather and godmother the hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg and Countess Elisabeth d’Udekem d’Acoz, sister of Queen Mathilde.

Like all his siblings, Prince Emmanuel began his education at the Sint Jan Berchmans College in Brussels in Dutch. Suffering from dyslexia, the prince then continued his studies at a Dutch-speaking specialist school Eureka in Kessel-Lo near Leuven.

Since September 2020, the prince has joined the International School of Brussels in English. His younger sister Princess Eléonore joined him in September. The prince speaks French, Dutch and English fluently.

We find some similarities with Prince Charles, the Prince Regent, brother of his great-grandfather King Leopold III. If he seems at first glance a little shy and shy, the prince has shown that he is very comfortable in his contacts, such as when during the pandemic, like his brothers and sisters, he volunteered in nursing homes and contacted seniors by telephone during periods of confinement.

On the musical side, the prince devotes himself with talent to the saxophone. And on the sporting side, he practices windsurfing, running (he took part in the 20 kilometers of Brussels) and skiing. He is also a big supporter of the Red Devils.

Like all the children of sovereigns, we only know regarding them what the Palace is willing to leak. We know that every summer, in addition to a cultural trip abroad, the family goes to their property on Île d’Yeu in France. At Easter, head to Spain with stages of the route to Saint-Jacques de Compostela. Queen Mathilde has always placed emphasis on a thorough cultural education of her children who sometimes accompany her when visiting exhibitions or at the international Queen Elisabeth competition.

Prince Emmanuel therefore still has one school year left before moving towards a choice of higher studies.
