MOREAU – More than 70 first responders have been searching the area around Moreau State Park since regarding 7 p.m. Saturday following a 9-year-old girl on a camping trip with her family disappeared following going for a bike ride.
Charlotte Sena had been staying at the park with a group of family and friends, including her parents, since Friday night, said State Police Troop G Public Information Officer Stephanie O’Neil.
At regarding 6:15 p.m. Saturday the girl went for a bike ride. When regarding 10 minutes passed and she didn’t return, her parents started looking for her, O’Neil said.
Police received the call regarding her disappearance around 6:45 p.m. O’Neil said her bike was found, but she might not comment on if Charlotte’s family found the bike, or first responders did when they arrived.
O’Neil said Charlotte has been to the state park before, but isn’t overly familiar with it.
“She is a highly intelligent, adventurous 9-year-old – but obviously this is out of character for her,” O’Neil told the Times Union early Sunday morning.
Helicopters, bloodhounds, K-9s, air boats and ATVs are being used to try and find Charlotte, who is from Saratoga County.
Charlotte stands 5-foot-1 and weighs regarding 90 pounds. She has blond hair and was wearing a Pokemon shirt, blue pants and black Crocs on Saturday.
Local Union 773 Plumbers, Pipefitters, Steamfitters and Service Technicians out of Queensbury asked for anyone’s help in finding Charlotte as her father is one of their members. “Please keep the Sena family in your thoughts and prayers,” the union said.
