(Archyde.com, Kyiv, 30th) Ukrainian state government and military officials said today that Russia sent 40 Iranian-made “Witness” (Shahed) drones to conduct night attacks in central and southern Ukraine, and 30 of them were shot down by the Ukrainian air force.

The command of Ukraine’s Southern Military District said 20 drones were shot down in the central Vinnytsia oblast and 10 more in the southern Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts.

Natalia Humeniuk, spokesperson for Ukraine’s Southern Military District Command, told Ukrainian television that Russia continues to attack port infrastructure, including along the Danube River, and is trying to attack key infrastructure in other Ukrainian states in an attempt to “disrupt the economy”.

After the Moscow authorities withdrew from the Black Sea grain agreement brokered by the United Nations in July, the Russian military stepped up air strikes once morest Ukrainian grain export infrastructure along the Danube River and at the port of Odessa. The Black Sea Grains Agreement allows Ukraine to safely export grains from Black Sea ports.

Serhiy Borzov, the governor of Vinnytsia region, said that an infrastructure in the state was attacked and the fire started. He provided no other details regarding the damage.

State authorities also said three people were wounded in the southern state of Kherson, which is close to the front lines and often under shelling. Central News Agency (translation)
