The National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) has published the September 26 an update of information relating to supply tensions concerns the Infanrix Hexa vaccine, powder and suspension for injection in pre-filled syringe – [Vaccin diphtérique (D), tétanique (T), coquelucheux (Ca), de l’hépatite B (ADNr), (HepB),poliomyélitique inactivé (P) et d’Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) conjugué (adsorbé)].
Distribution is limited in city pharmacies. Distribution is normal in hospitals as well as in communities and Overseas Departments and Regions. The date of normal delivery is estimated at the end of November 2023.
In the event of a supply shortage, in a vaccination schedule started with Infanrix hexa and according to official vaccination recommendations, it is possible to substitute another hexavalent vaccine (Hexyon or Vaxelis for example) for the second or third dose.
In order to secure the situation in France as much as possible and to preserve available stocks, the sale and export of the medicine by wholesale distributors abroad is prohibited from the publication of this information sheet on the website of the National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM), in application of public health law 2016-41 published in the Official Journal on January 27, 2016 and the provisions of articles L.5121-30 and L.5124 -17-3 of the Public Health Code. This measure prohibiting sales outside the national territory, or to wholesale distributors for export, must be applied and respected until the medicine is made available normally, allowing a continuous and appropriate supply to the national market.
