Luis Enrique Palma made his debut this Saturday as Celtic’s new top scorer in Scotland’s first division following converting his first goal.

The catracho entered in the 77th minute and 10 minutes later he scored a tremendous goal that opened the scoring for the visiting team that was visiting Motherwell.

After the final whistle in Celtic’s 2-1 triumph, Brendan Rodgers, coach of the Scottish team, gave his assessments of the victory.

“Our persistence was magnificent. We continued forward and the players remained calm, which was important. Then we ended up scoring the first goal and it seemed like it would be the winning goal,” said the Celtic manager.

He added: “But I have said it many times, the history of this club is built on late goals and that is what comes when you know you have to keep running and fighting until the end, and that mentality served us well.”

Brendan Rodgers revealed the keys to the victory once morest Motherwell and specified that not failing was important to achieve another win that keeps them in first place in the table.

“I think calm was what won in the end. We didn’t just throw the ball forward, especially when they got the equalizer. We worked, we got to good areas and then, when we were in the right areas, we delivered,” he stated.

And he added: “I am very proud of the team. They are building this resilience and this mentality under a different manager and I am very proud of them today. In short, a great victory for us and fantastic for the fans behind the goal.”
