This should definitely attract users! The European Metropolis of Lille (North) launched a free digital service at the end of September 2023 allowing you to read the press, watch a film or even train in hundreds of areas. Here’s how it works.

Free training, readings and films

This new service is simply called “To be continued…” It is open to all residents of the region with one condition: be registered in one of the 125 libraries in the region. It is in fact this registration that allows you to connect.

And the game is worth it! This new online service combines information, education and culture. Simple and free, it is accessible everywhere, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day! A large online media library which complements the physical offering that can be found in libraries.

“It’s a nice project, set up with help from the State. A complementary service from local libraries and a way to encourage our residents to go there,” comments the president of the Metropolis Damien Castelain.

What exactly you find on the new platform

As for training, the Metropolis has partnered with Skilleos. The platform therefore offers 130,000 videos in a wide variety of areas: leisure, well-being, professional training, academic support, youth, language learning. All are free and have unlimited access. Furthermore, the online tool offers a fun approach but also a personal space to find your lessons and follow your progress!

“It’s very easy to use, I myself started sign language lessons,” smiles the president.

On the press side, the partnership was established with Cafeyn. More than 1,500 French and foreign titles are available online on the platform: sport, people, gardening, high-tech, history… there is something for everyone. Daily newspapers or specialized magazines and youth information.

Finally, the online media library brings together Arte VOD and Univers Ciné content to offer more than 7,000 videos: “the best of French and foreign cinema, a wide selection of documentaries and numerous cartoons to delight the youngest too! », assures the Metropolis.

Original programs to watch in streaming or download. Each registered metropolitan resident can have 4 tokens per month (1 film = between 0.5 and 2 tokens depending on its theatrical release date).
