“I think the good news is that there are more Backstreet Boys fans in Montreal than there are orange cones. So he is always welcome. We are always happy to have members of the Backstreet Boys who come to visit us,” declared the mayor of Montreal.

The opposition to the City of Montreal does not see the situation the same way at all.

“There is nothing funny regarding what happened yesterday with AJ. The mayor screwed up all over the place. She promised us a summer with fewer orange cones and I think we had orange cones like never before,” said the leader of the Ensemble Montréal party, Aref Salem, to TVA Nouvelles.

TVA Nouvelles also surveyed the population and many citizens decried the current situation of orange cones in the metropolis.

Here are some reactions we got:

“There are many, far too many.”

“I think they should make a little more effort to coordinate the work, because there is too much.”

“It’s embarrassing for everyone. It makes you want to escape the city.”
