You’ll also work up a sweat as well as eating at the Geschreibenstein goose walk in southern Burgenland. When registering for this event, participants choose their preferred Ganslwirt and thus their hiking destination for November 11th. The inns are all located around the Geschreibenstein Nature Park, for example in the towns of Schlaining, Lockenhaus and Rechnitz. This is also the meeting point for St. Martin’s Day.
A shuttle bus will then take you from the respective inn to the top of the Geschreibenstein pass, the starting point of the hike. Before we start, you will be provided with chestnuts and hot drinks. Holders of a Burgenland Card can take part in this guided hike free of charge, otherwise the participation fee is 35 euros. However, the local stay is not included here.
