Whether it’s to locate you, take advantage of improved ergonomics or enhance your text with fun effects, these little-known options allow you to enrich your sending messages on iPhone.
Like every year, the new update of Apple’s operating system for iPhone brings its share of new features. And many of them often concern iMessage, Apple’s user-to-user messaging function which enriches the Messages application.
If the latter seems basic and solely dedicated to sending and receiving SMS, the options offered by the iMessage function (only between iPhone, iPhone and Mac, iPhone and iPad…), often unknown, can prove to be very practical and improve the experience.
If the person you’re talking to has an Apple device that can receive iMessages, this will be mentioned at the top of your conversation and the bubbles will turn blue. You can then enjoy the following functions between you.
Share your location
This feature is a simple alternative to help your loved ones find you at a specific location. It is also an excellent solution to reassure your family or friends during a trip by letting them know where you are.
Open a conversation and press the “+” button located next to the text entry bar. – Tech&CoClick on “Location” in the menu that appears then select the duration of activation of your location (“Indefinitely”, “Until the end of the day”, “For an hour”). Let your friends know you’re home safely
This is one of the additions of iOS 17, you now have the possibility of telling your loved ones that you have arrived safely. Otherwise, your loved ones are alerted and receive the location of your device.

Pin important messages
A practical option to never lose sight of important exchanges. You can pin up to nine conversations which will automatically appear at the top of your message list as bubbles.

Reply to a specific message
You can reply directly to a specific message and use mentions to draw attention to certain messages and people.
Press a message bubble for a few seconds, then click “Reply”. Then, enter your message and tap the arrow button to send it.Tech&Co
Mention people in a group chat
A l’instar the WhatsAppiMesssage allows you to contact a specific person by mentioning them in the conversation.
Open a conversation. Enter a contact’s name, then tap name when it appears. You can also enter “@” followed by your contact’s name.Tech&Co
Create special effects with your text
Colorful balloons that float, fireworks that explode or even showers of confetti: iMessage allows you to embellish your conversations with special effects.

Create a sticker with your photos
You can now use the objects and people that you cut out from your photos to make stickers to make your conversations more fun.
Open an image in “Photos” and press for a few seconds on the subject you want to crop out. In addition to creating stickers in the iMessages app, you can also do so at any time in the Photos app. This works with Live photos which will then become GIFs.
