RIO DE JANEIRO – A virtual race that yielded a very real prize. Uniting the two “universes”, Nissan awarded the winner of the “Gran Turismo Challenge”, a competition organized by the Japanese brand related to the release of the film “Gran Turismo: From Player to Racer” in cinemas last month. The virtual car race in simulators with the game Gran Turismo 7, on the Sony PlayStation 5, which were installed in shopping malls in the city of São Paulo, had Lucas Tadeu Bonelli as the grand champion, with a time of 1m51s923.
Lucas participated in the competition in the simulators available during the months of August and September at Shopping Eldorado. Because he was the fastest among all the participants, he received a simulator cockpit FX1 Extreme Racing with LogitechG923 steering wheel, the same as those used during the dispute. Furthermore, he was also awarded a Sony Playstation 5.

The action provided that any speed enthusiast, aged 18 or over, might sign up to participate by driving a virtual car as if they were inside the car, competing in a real race. Each competitor raced on the same track and with the same car: on the famous Nürburgring track in Germany, with a Nissan GT-R 35 NISMO, within the Gran Turismo game on the Playstation 5. Each had the right to three complete laps, but only the best time was considered for classification in the competition.
