DSV Leoben’s First Point in Admiral 2nd League under Coach Rene Poms: Exciting 2-2 Draw with FC Liefering

On Friday, DSV Leoben scored their first point in the Admiral 2nd League since coach Rene Poms took office. The Donawitz team played 2-2 at FC Liefering in the 9th round.

Leoben is the team that sets the tone in the first half. The can opener for the Styrians, however, is a foul by Marcel Moswitzer. The 18-year-old clumsily brings down Luka Brkic in his own penalty area, causing a penalty. Kevin Friesenbichler steps in and makes it 1-0 (29./E).

The guests will continue to be in control. Deni Alar only hits the bar and Friesenbichler also fails from a tight angle to Jonas Krumrey.

Liefering has better luck on the other side: Moritz Neumann is ideally cleared and finishes immediately. Leoben goalkeeper Zan Pelko still has his foot, but the ball finds its way into the goal in a high arc – 1:1 (41st).

Alar prevents the next setback

In the second half, Leoben was no longer in control, but the “Young Bulls” found some opportunities. However, Pelko is there once morest Neumann as well as Adam Daghim’s header. However, Moussa Yeo then provides an exclamation mark, making a hook inside and powerfully sinking the ball into the near corner – 2-1 for Liefering (76th).

In the following minutes, both teams lacked precision in the finish, before Alar allowed DSV Leoben to celebrate shortly before the end. The experienced striker stands in the right place following an extended free kick and maneuvers the ball into the net to make it 2-2 (86th).

This result remains the same. Krumrey was able to parry a shot from Marco Untergrabner in the final minutes.

While Leoben is scoring once more following five defeats in a row and now has ten points, Liefering is just behind with eight points.
