Tragic Car Accident in Riyadh: Andhra Family’s Funeral and DNA Testing Procedures

Riyadh: The bodies of a young Andhra couple and their two children who died in a car accident in Riyadh on August 25 were buried. The bodies of Ghaus Dantu (35), his wife Tabrak Sarwar (31), sons Muhammad Damil Ghaus (two) and Muhammad Ihan Ghaus (four), who came to Saudi Arabia from Kuwait to perform Umrah, were buried at Hayul Salam Maqbara in Naseem on Friday. ​. The funeral prayer was performed at Alrajhi Mosque, Exit 15.

On Friday, 25th of last month, at six o’clock in the morning, the Ford car they were traveling in collided with a trailer driven by a Saudi citizen on the Hafna – Tuwaikh road in Tumama, east of Riyadh. All the four died in the fire inside the completely burnt Ford car.

The charred and unrecognizable bodies were kept in the Ruma General Hospital mortuary. Then each body was identified through DNA testing. The DNA test result was received yesterday. All the procedures were completed and the dead bodies were hidden under the leadership of Siddique Tuvvoor, chairman of KMCC charity department and a prominent social worker. He came to the rescue from the time of the accident and completed all the legal procedures by coordinating with the Saudi Police, Forensic Wing, Hospital and Indian Embassy.

Siddique Tuvvoor told ‘Gulf Madhyama’ that there was a good cooperation between the police, forensics, hospital staff and embassy staff and the coordinated work of all of them helped to complete the procedures even though there were many complications.

Gous Dantu, who died, has a Kuwaiti Iqama. He was working in Kuwait. From there, the family came to Saudi Arabia on a tourist visa, first reached Makkah and following completing Umrah and Madinah visit, they came to Riyadh to see the places. The accident happened while visiting various tourist places.
