NNA – Matn – The “Tashnag” party organized a massive demonstration in front of the Azerbaijani embassy in Lebanon in the town of Ain Aar – central Matn, in protest once morest “the genocide and ethnic cleansing carried out by Azerbaijan in Artsakh once morest its Armenian population,” amid a heavy deployment of security forces in the vicinity of the embassy. But a problem arose between the demonstrators and the security forces, which led to 20 injuries among the demonstrators following a stampede between the two teams.

Thousands of Armenian demonstrators participated in the demonstration to demand “respect for human rights and guaranteeing the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination.”

Pakradounian

The Secretary-General of the Dashnak Party, Representative Hagop Pakradounian, delivered a speech in which he declared, “The beginning of a new phase in the history of the Armenians, because Azerbaijan and Turkey committed a new genocide once morest us.” He considered that “Artsakh was handed over from a dependent authority,” and said: “Today we were defeated in Artsakh, but we were not defeated as a people. We were not defeated as an Armenian nation.”

Pakradounyan held “the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan responsible for what happened in Artsakh” and described him as “a loyal friend of Turkey and Azerbaijan.”

Ayvazyan

Likewise, Ludwik Ayvazyan, a member of the Committee for Defending the Armenian Issue in Lebanon, delivered a speech in which he considered that “the Security Council is unable to prevent genocide in broad daylight of the twenty-first century, as if its charter and laws were only ink on paper.” He added, “In the year 1915, when the global economy was being transformed from dependence on coal to liquid fuel, Armenian blood was shed, and oil was heavier in the eyes of the West than Armenian blood. Today, a hundred years later, the global economy is being transformed from liquid fuel to gas, and their blood evaporates.” “Armenians.”

20 wounded

The demonstrators carried banners and chanted slogans denouncing the Azerbaijani policy and the repeated attacks on Armenians in Artsakh, so the security forces fired tear gas bombs at them in an attempt to disperse them.

There was a stampede between the security forces and the demonstrators, which led to 20 wounded among them.

The demonstrators then fired firecrackers at the entrance to the embassy and the security forces, causing a fire to break out in the vicinity of the embassy.
